Some of you folks may have played a game called Civilization, and remember scenes of a warrior/spearman killing apache helicopters/tanks, funny but true. So i wont lie, was extremely disappointed at my GvG experience, but hooray for hood battles, at least you get some kind of visual battlefield and it was quite fun (at first) I started off at the lower scale of the hood players, since im a newbie at this. and the only real purpose of it is too give people who have nothing left to do a reason to stay connected to the server. For the sake of this conversation i am going to write this down as a end of game feature. It doesn't matter if you attack/defend, the outcome is the same. Now it could be me here, but that has to be the most pointless battle system, since the days of text based games. You simply spend all day constructing troops and then place them into a slot and repeat the process. So much so i recently started to dabble in the ways of the sword.Īt first the motivation for the movement into battle was to return the favor to the guild by helping them in Guild Wars, Now picture my face when i discovered that you don't actually fight. I understand this method of playing is not for everyone and can also understand how some will claim it too be boring.
I haven't really participated in the military side of the game, i joined a guild in the beginning and was extremely happy trading my way along the research ladder, etc. That question is the fundamental reason behind me making this thread, but before i get some answers and hear some of the forums thoughts, I have a few things that i wish too discuss with you.
Can you realistically speaking play 'Forge of Empires, without being in a guild or owning any military ?
